CREXDATA Showcases Crisis Management Solutions at EU Science for Preparedness Conference 2025

Date: November 20, 2025

TURIN, Italy – The CREXDATA EU Project successfully presented its latest advancements in data-driven crisis response at the EU Science for Preparedness Conference, held from November 4–6, 2025, at the Lingotto Congress Centre in Turin, Italy.

Organized by the European Commission’s Joint Research Centre (JRC) and the Copernicus Emergency Management Service (CEMS), the conference gathered policymakers, scientists, and crisis experts to explore how innovation can strengthen Europe’s resilience against future emergencies.

Representing the consortium, Niklas Döhner from the University of Paderborn presented the project’s featured poster, titled:

“Situation Analysis, Action Planning and Decision Support: Making Extreme Data Usable and Actionable.”

The presentation highlighted CREXDATA’s critical mission: bridging the gap between massive, complex data streams (“extreme data”) and real-time decision-making. By leveraging advanced algorithms and predictive analytics, the project demonstrated how raw data—from weather sensors to emergency feeds—can be rapidly processed into clear, actionable intelligence. This capability is vital for helping civil protection authorities and first responders plan effective actions during high-pressure scenarios, such as extreme weather events or maritime emergencies.

CREXDATA’s participation underscores its pivotal role in the European Union’s strategy to integrate cutting-edge science and technology into operational disaster risk management.
