Crexdata – Final Trial in Dortmund. The final trial of the Crexdata project was held in Dortmund, Germany, on October 27, 30 and 31.

On the first day, a total of eleven experienced emergency personnel participated in the organized activities. Their experience and roles were diverse, as some colleagues also hold or have experience in other command positions. For example, some personnel whose primary role is S3 (Operations Chief 3) also have experience as S2 or S5 (Operations Chief 5). This diversity was key to successfully carrying out the planned tests during this first day of the trial.

Following a brief welcome from Deniz Özcan (UPB), Marcel Ebel (UPB), Niklas Döhner (UPB), and Norbert Pahlke (FDDO), the participants focused on emergency call analysis through a guided demonstration in RapidMiner, which included a hands-on session with RM Altair AI Studio. After a break, the Dortmund Fire Scenario took place, featuring an introduction to the ARGOS System and a demonstration of its overall functionality. Different visualizations via this system were set up during this first day.

On the second day, following an extensive presentation on the Crexdata project, several visualizations of the prediction models were showcased, along with work on defining parameters for the simulations. At least six emergency personnel participated on the second day, which took place at the fire station. By mid-morning, interactive demonstrations took center stage, focusing on both text mining and the forecasting use case. The day concluded with a moderated discussion to identify key features and potential for optimization in the individual technologies and the overall system.

On the last day, drones were the main focus, with a drone flight conducted to collect images for NeRF generation. This was followed by a hands-on testing session by the end-users of the AR Robotic Data Visualization and the AR Flooding System.

The partners UPB, FDDO, DRZ, and TUC were very pleased with the results obtained during the three-day trial and the feedback received from the participants. This led to a very positive assessment of the final trial before the completion of the Crexdata project.
